UAE placed in Cites Category One status

Following legislation to protect endangered animals and plants the UAE now has Category One status to implement the Geneva-based Convention of International Trade in Endangered Species (Cites) regulations.

This puts the UAE in the same category with countries that have made the combating of illegal trade of fauna and flora a high priority. Other countries in Category One include some European Union nations, Japan, Australia and Canada.
The UAE has achieved this status due to its efforts in issuing Federal Law 11 2002 on Regulating and Controlling International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora.

This law makes it illegal to import, export and re-export or offer for sale any animals, plants or derivatives that have not been obtained under the Cites requirements. "Penalties and imprisonment were also made applicable. "This law was vital because it formed the legal infrastructure to implement and enforce Cites regulations in the UAE,” a statement from the Cites Management Authority in the UAE said. To help implement Cites, a unique UAE falcon registering scheme has been introduced. (The Gulf News)

Terms of Trade - Plants

1. Send your request via email, fax or through the info@cycadinternational.com link at bottonm of the page.of our Website with details of quantities required of each species. Please include either your email address, fax number and country code, mailing address with your details.
2. We will advise availability and send you a Quote which will include any costs for export documents and a price for packaging and shipping. We will advise if you will require any import documentation for the shipment if you are to proceed with the order.
3. If you wish to proceed with the order any further negotiations need to be finalized at this point. e.g. If you require alternate shipping arrangements and pricing, more or less quantities etc.
4. Payment will be in advance accompanying a written confirmation of order. Payment must be received and cleared into our account before an order is dispatched.
5. Preferred payment method is by Telegraphic Transfer direct to our Bank in Australia. These details are listed on the Quote. Some brokers require further information plus the Swift Code – please send request for this information so that we may make your payment as easy as possible to process.
6. Order is packed as soon as possible and dispatched by the customers preferred method of transport.

• Ownership is passed to the buyer as soon as the plants are passed to your preference of transport. We explicitly work on your instructions for we are not liable for any difficulties after dispatch.
• The customer accepts these terms of trade once an order is placed.
